Customer support

Definition

Customer support is the actions you take to troubleshoot customer problems. Good support streamlines the customer experience and ensures that technical issues don’t stop your customers from using your product.

There are many ways to offer customer support. Having live agents available via phone or chat is a must for many businesses. Knowledge bases and customer communities are other ways to offer support.

Both of these channels are self-service, which means customers can find answers to their questions independently.

What is the difference between customer service and customer support?

Customer service is the catch-all term for all the ways you help your customers. It includes both customer support and customer success.
