Reactions are one of the most common ways that users engage with posts. Depending on the platform, reactions can include Likes, Claps, Upvotes/Downvotes, and various Emoji-based responses.

While a higher than average proportion of reactions can be indicative of a post’s popularity (i.e., an indicator that it’s trending), because of the relatively minimal effort needed to react to a post compared with commenting on it or sharing it, community and social media managers tend to give less weight in their analytics to reactions compared with these other forms of engagement.
